Wards Children's Awards

Our 22nd annual Wards Children’s Awards was filled with emotion as we came together to celebrate. Since 2002, these awards have honoured children, families and charities across Kent who have shown extraordinary bravery, compassion and determination in the face of adversity. And once again, the stories shared on stage left no one in the room unmoved. Returning hosts, television and radio presenter, Charlotte Hawkins, and children’s favourite Mister Maker brought fun and energy to the day. The heartfelt award presentations and a lively half-time show made sure the event was a perfect balance of reflection, celebration and joy. This year, we received over 100 nominations across six categories - each one is proof of resilience, kindness and courage of young people in our community. At Wards, we are still committed to supporting children, families and charities across Kent, raising over £115,000 for children’s charities last year alone. But nothing compares to the inspiration we take from the incredible young people recognised at these awards. The Wards Children’s Awards will return next year and the courage and determination we saw in 2025 will stay with us.

Industry Recognised Estate Agency Qualifications

Since Arun Estates formed in 1991 our customers have been the centre of everything we do, prioritising their needs and ensuring we deliver the very best service whilst helping them “move forwards on their life’s journey”. To deliver this we know our staff need to be trained to the highest level and we are proud to have our own Training Department who are committed to helping our staff excel across all areas of the business.To further support and enhance the in house training we decided to look externally into the opportunity to provide our sales teams with the chance to gain an industry recognised qualification. It was here we found ‘Property Mark Qualifications’ and embarked on a new and exciting journey with them to become an accredited centre to deliver both Level 2 and Level 3 Qualifications within our own organisation. Property Mark are one of the leading membership bodies for the estate agency sector and share our passion for delivering excellence, the awards delivered via ‘Property Mark Qualifications’, aim to raise standards within the industry through increasing knowledge of legislative and customer related practises. Combining this with our own gold standard training will enable our sales teams to work even more professionally and compliantly with our customers to exceed their expectations and deliver the highest quality service and advice.Gaining our accreditation in March 2023 was an immensely proud moment for Arun Estates which was closely followed by two of our Senior Training and Development Team obtaining their Level 2 and Level 3 Awards. This enables us to support our learners through their qualifications with an in depth understanding of the commitment involved and ensures the support we offer our learners is effective in guiding them through the process.Since then, we have worked to produce a programme to provide our staff with the required support to help them study and ultimately pass their exams. This means we can build on what we have already trained out and hopefully make the learning experience as manageable and enjoyable as possible.At this time there is no need to be qualified in any way to work as an Estate Agent, however, we will be ahead of the curve should legislation change in the future. Arun Estates Giving Back

Arun Estates has always been committed to giving back to our local communities - whether through coffee mornings, fun runs, or donations to local community foundations and charitable causes. Tree of Hope children’s charity helps children and young people with a disability or illness by supporting their families to raise the funds that they need to pay for specialist care that is not freely available through the UK healthcare system. Douglas Allen have chosen Haven House as our charity partner.Haven House Children’s Hospice cares for seriously ill babies and children (up to the age of 18) by creating a loving and warm environment for them and their families while they go through the toughest of times.Pittis have chosen Kissy Puppy as our charity partner.Kissy Puppy – The Sophie Rolf Trust was originally set up by parents Aaron and Gemma Rolf in support of their daughter Sophie, who lost her fight in November 2013. Now, Kissy Puppy – The Sophie Rolf Trust helps to support children across the Island with life shortening illnesses.Cubitt & West have chosen The Rainbow Trust as their charity partner. The Rainbow Trust provide bespoke support for families who have a child with a serious illness. They offer the whole family support, regardless of diagnosis and are there for as long as a family needs them.
